A world event with its own edition

The Society provides a separate World Trial area within its major-event resources. Treat each hosted World Trial as an edition with its own organising information, rather than assuming that an earlier venue or schedule remains current. The word world identifies the series, not a general ranking of every working dog. Results from livestock, detection, protection and other dog disciplines cannot be combined into this championship’s standings.

National allocations and entry context

World resources include allocations and qualification information. Those documents explain the entry framework; they do not themselves establish which named partnership ultimately competed. Verify the actual entry, selection or results publication before assigning a national appearance. A profile should distinguish competitor, reserve, official and accompanying supporter instead of treating every person pictured at a team gathering as a competing handler.

Categories and competition stages

The Society’s 2026 information illustrates separate qualifying stages, senior finals, young-handler activity and brace competition. That is an edition-specific example, not a promise that every future program is identical. Retain category, stage and dog identities in result records. A qualifying-field score and a final placing answer different questions, while brace work should preserve the pair of dogs rather than assigning the whole result to a guessed single dog.

Use the archive without overclaiming

A public article can explain the event’s significance and link the edition’s official information while avoiding invented annual dates or a copied champion list. For historical research, distinguish a final result from a live display or draw. Junior participation requires particular care with unnecessary personal details and media consent. Obtain image rights independently and retain the source of each sporting fact so later corrections can be applied without reconstructing the whole story.

Common questions

Can a qualifying-field score be displayed as a final placing?

No. Preserve the category and stage exactly as published.
