Identify the source names

The national canine organisation’s website uses SRSH and KMSH in its French and Dutch contexts. Keep those names as official-language aliases for the same identified body where appropriate, rather than creating duplicate organisations in a directory. Preserve the source language alongside an English explanation so a reader can locate the original resource.

Distinguish breed from geography

A Belgian Shepherd living or competing elsewhere still needs its actual registry and event authority recorded. Conversely, dogs of many breeds can work in Belgium. Do not organise every Belgian record under one breed or infer the country of registration from a familiar breed name. Use the exact dog identifier and verified supporting documents when connecting profiles across borders.

Read the award in context

SRSH publishes documents describing conditions for Belgian champion titles. A title has a defined programme and eligibility context; it should not become an undifferentiated national working champion label. Check whether the document concerns conformation or another activity and retain the original title. The mere presence of a result on a club website does not establish every claimed qualification.

Make a focused local search

Begin with the actual sport, working role or registration question and use the responsible organisation to identify the relevant contact. Request current rules and event details rather than borrowing requirements from a neighbouring country. For historic records, keep the edition and any validation status with the source. Operational service requires evidence from the relevant institution, while travel and access permissions require their own authorities. This resource guide does not claim a complete Belgian trainer directory or endorsement of a particular line or provider.

Common questions

Does a Belgian breed name establish Belgian registry or service history?

No. Breed, country of activity, registry and operational role need separate identified evidence.
