At a glanceProvisional results can change after checks or corrections. A trustworthy record shows publication status and preserves the source of later amendments.WORKING DOG reference library · Added 2026-10-19 · Editorial guideIdentify the statusCheck whether the publisher calls a scoreboard live, provisional, official or final. A live display can be valuable without being the final record. Keep a retrieval date and do not label a result final solely because the competition has ended.Apply an amendmentWhen an organiser publishes a correction, attach it to the relevant event, class and round. Explain which fields changed and preserve the previous version for audit purposes. Do not silently transfer an amended placing to a similarly named dog without checking identity.Handle missing evidenceIf two sources disagree, show the uncertainty internally and seek the organiser’s authoritative record. A repost or screenshot may preserve an older version. Avoid creating a composite table from incompatible publications unless each component and the reconciliation method are clearly documented.Sources & further readingReferences for this guide.
