Find the responsible organisation

Identify whether you need a breed club, a Dogs Australia activity or a livestock-working association before choosing a contact. A shared state boundary does not mean every club uses the same rules or registration system.

Use the official starting point

Dogs NSW is listed in Dogs Australia’s state and territory member-body directory. Visit its current website for its own club and activity resources. This guide is a navigation aid, not a claim that every working breed, livestock association or independent event is represented.

Make a useful local plan

When searching older records, preserve the published venue and event name. Do not infer a modern council area or merge recurring events solely because they share a town name. Save the contact and date checked with your notes, and recheck information before entering or travelling.

Specialist sheepdog resources

For sheepdog-trial discovery, NSW Sheepdog Workers provides a specialist starting point alongside the separate Dogs NSW network. Establish which organisation is responsible for an event before using its entry or registration information. For a published result, preserve the dog’s name, handler, class, event edition and original source. If you are researching a dog across several events, treat a matching call name as a lead rather than a confirmed identity. Ask the record holder to clarify ambiguous matches before combining profiles.
